If the weather keeps on as it is, not cold and rainy, we should have packed Tech Days all year.

What happend to Winter? I think Brad the hot on a rock lizard man did some no rain dance or something and now we have all this sunshine.

I plan on bringing my T3 engine in to get the flywheel removed. I found a method to determine whether the main bearing is loose in the case (very bad, rebuild time) or not (fixable with a change in shims).

Hi All, It was good meeting you all and I am really thankful for the carb advice. (KEN RAY and CLIFF) Yesterday I went to my buddies and picked up a German 34 Pict. Rebuilt it and installed it on the bug. After many hours of fiddling about, I have it running ok. It still seems to have hesitation in the lower Rpms but runs fine on top. Idle and Main jets are 55 and 127 respectivly. The real question will be in MPH. Cliff is this some thing that I could get some help on at the tech day? Timing and carb adjustment. Breck

SURE IS. GOT ALL THE STUFF HERE TO DO IT. WE CAN EVEN PUT IT ON THE ANILYZER TO SEE WHERE EXACTLY WE ARE AT TOO.

Anyone know how to work on a horn? My dad put a load against it and it works but its not connected and Im clueless. Looks like the wire was cut and the base of the steering wheel.

Alas, at today's Tech Day, we confirmed that the main bearing is moving, so a rebuild is in order now. I found the third shim, BTW, it was well stuck to one of the other ones. Bummer.

I didn't take pictures, sorry. If i counted right there was 8-9 guys there. No rain but it was cold. I was there from 12-3.

Hey all, Sorry for the slow reply. Once I left you all I went to Pilot Hill area and worked on the 64. I want to say a big thank you to Eric, Tom, David, Sean, Mat and Cliff for all the help that they gave me. The bug is running much better after replacing the intake man gaskets and rubber boots. I am at 20mph and climbing!! I still cannot get a consistant idle. Seems completly intermitant. I replace the 55 pilot to a 65 and its helping. But it still will randomly stop idling. What is the consensus on the timing pointing to number two instead of number one. I really would like this fixed. But it is way out of my area so I would need Help.. I also would like to get in touch with Tom. Hey Tom if I could get a hold of your Empies and take them to a shop an put tires on them then we could make the trade at the next tech meet. Once again thamks to all and sorry if I missed somebody who helped. I went back to Pilot Hill and installed the 40 in the 64. Next is brakes. We are replacing everything except the hard lines. Hope to have it on the road very soon. Anyone have a cheap tire connection??? Need tires for the 64. Its running stock rims. Breck
