Sactown Vdubs Tech Day-Sunday 2/5/12

The Sactown crew has finally found a spot to have monthly tech days! Special thanks go out to Breck for hosting. We will have our tech days on the first Saturday of every month, however we will have our first meeting this Sunday, 2/5/12. We will start at 9:30 am, leave when bored. Bring your own drinks. If someone is planning a day long project please send Breck a messge ahead of time and he will hold them a spot closer to tools and air. It also helps if you chime in if you plan to show and need space to work. A head count always helps to alert the neighbors before we group in masses. Again, just let Breck know.

Also, if we could please remember that this is Breck's home. Please pick up after yourself (especially grease and oil) and also please be respectful of his neighbors. I do not think that we're going to have any problems as we're a pretty respectable group of people but.....I'm just sayin'.

I don't have much to have to work on, as far as my VW's go, we do it here at the house, but I may come just to hang out and BS with everyone. I will let Breck know if I will show or not when it gets closer.


As far as packing your fluids out. If you buy milk by the gallon, the jugs make great oil containers that seal up fairly well. Might think about saving some if you are going to do an oil change or what not! Just saying....... ! LOL

They require quite a bit of air. What size is yours?

YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW THE GALLONS PER HOUR OF THE COMPRESSOR. THOSE DAs TAKE A LOT OF AIR!!!!!

I have a new cheap 125 max psi 12 gal tank. Not sure thats gonna run a DA. My old one, which sits in the corner, would be fine. However it is a 220 rig and the house can not support it.

Not what IS psi !!!! What PSI does the DA need!!! LOL And yes Cliff I agree my cheap little compressor prolly cant support the DA.

DAs USUALLY RUN 60-90 PSI BUT THEY USE LIKE 6-12 GPH WHICH IS A LOT FOR ANY SMALL COMPRESSOR. U REALLY NEED LIKE AN INDUSTRIAL WITH MINIMUM LIKE 40-60 GALLON TANK SO THE PUMP ISNT RUNNING THE WHOLE TIME YOUR USING THE DA.

Yep my other comp 100 gal big boy, new house is too old. Panel is loaded. Need to ditch the hot tub and re-route the circuit!!
