| I finally gathered a lil $$ together and am in search of anything 1600dp or larger that can get me back on the road! I have everything from my old 1600dp that I can use if I found a good long block. Or partial complete motor for that matter. At this point I have 400 bucks MAX. I have found a couple on Craigslist but am sketch on buying a motor from a normy! I would feel much more comfortable scoring a deal from a fellow V-Dubber! My odds of getting screwed are greatly reduced if not eliminated when dealing with our own kind! So PLEASE dig through you're stuff and let me know what you have... I'd even consider a rebuilt short block for the right price. Lemme know anything you may have! THANKS ALOT!!! JUST A THOUGHT If someone has a 1641 or 1776 complete with carb set up that's in good shape I would be willing to give $300 AND a SICK BMX BIKE! I know it's a long shot but I figured it doesn't hurt to throw it out there. My bike is seriously top of the line and looks brand new. If new, the bike new would be worth well over a grand, however bikes depreciate worse than cars so, my loss. But not really if it means a nice motor. If interested let me know and I'll send you all the specs and pics. Thanks again for looking! | |

| I have some heads that have cracks, but may be repairable; I've been lagging on taking them to Peninsula for a look-over. You can have them.
I may have a few cases for you. They're empty though (pretty sure there's no cams or cranks in them) and I may be able to score you one if you're interested. | |

| I appreciate the thought brotha, however a 1600dp juuuuuuust barely keeps me content. LOL A 1300 would frustrate the hell out of me! HAHA! Anyway, I found a motor the other day and am picking it up tonight! Thanks again for the offer! | |

| Kyle will that 1300 or the 1500 work on my sons 64. It sounds like we may have lost the #3 exhaust valve and need to keep the car on the road during a rebuild. I just replaced the clutch, pressure plate, clutch fork and throw out bearing Now the valve is a clacking. My son is starting to think this car was a bad idea and I really want to keep him in it but every weekend I am repairing something and he is not getting to drive it. We are 2k into it and it is still not reliable. | |

| Hey Breck, may I ask how old your son is? If he's a youngin, he may be smashin that dub when you're not loolin! LOL I mean I know between the ages of 18 and like 23. I drove the hell out of any car I was driving! Poor vehicles LMAO! Red lining, clutch dropping, mostly water cooled V-Dubs with no power and loud mufflers LOL When I got my first aircooled at the ripe age of 19, she was a trooper man! I drove her like she was fast, and paid for it with the constant repairs I had to perform. I dunno, just a thought!

| Wish it was that Rush but its not. Ryan is a 25 yo proffesional. Gainfully employed in the medical field, Very very mello guy who is not into working on cars. So last night he went out a bought himself a reliable car so the bug can be fixed as needed. Now the bug becomes his toy instead of a daily driver. | |

| How about a set of cheap heads for a 1600!??!?! sh-t I'd take just one if I had to. I swear the gods of transportation are against me right now! I have everything I need to put my motor back together and have a solid lil runner, all I needed to do was extract a stud that was broken off in the head of the motor I picked up. So I brought it ot my buddy, he propped it up on his work bench started hitting it with a torch, and BOOM it slides off the work bench and hits the floor!!!
So anyone that has a set laying around that is willing to part with them, PLEASE let me know... Thanks Dubbers

| *disclaimer: I saw the post above after I posted this, but my offer stands* Brothaman... I have a head that should be usable. 1600DP stock. One of the combustion chambers look like something was floating around in there for a minute: And the other has the common crack between valves. It's just a hairline though and is probably fixable: Extreme close-up of crack: Free if you want it. | |
