Bugpack forged and counterweighted, 82 mm stroke, 8 pin, .020" under mains, standard VW rod journals. Used two seasons in a racing motor, but in really good condition. Perfect for a monster street motor. I'll need to check with a buddy of mine to determine a fair price. Make a good offer. Thanks.

What supporting mods would be needed to install this in an otherwise stock engine? Will it fit a 1600 case?

Case would need to be "clearanced" to begin with.

And the build list would grow from there...

Mat is correct. The crank is just a beginning, but it is a good beginning. Both the AS41 and the AS21 case would need to be clearanced for the 82mm crank. An aftermarket case with a raised roof should not need clearancing for the crank, but should be checked to be sure. There are differences in the aftermarket cases marketed by EMPI, Bugpack, CB, AutoLinea, Autocraft and SCAT. Be sure to research the differences to make an informed decision. For a street motor, the VW AS41 or AS21 case should be fine with proper clearancing for an 82mm crank.

You would also want a flywheel that is drilled for eight locating pins instead of the stock four pins. You would also want longer rods (probably 5.5 inches), the longer cylinders and srroker pistons. The pin location is different in the stroker pistons. For a big street motor, I would probably choose the 90.5mm piston/cylinder combo. The cylinder walls are thicker than the 94s; therefore, making a better heat sink.

Big motors are a big project.

Sounds like I'll have to pass for now... Smile

My wallet's not ready for a build like that.
