hello there! anyone know if there is a specific direction the in take sending unit needs to face in my 71 standard beetle? It is a single float. Single wire. Thanks for the feedback!

You want to install it so the float itself is as much centered in the tank as possible.

On the subject, what's the deal with the two floats in the SB tank?
I'm thinking it must be some sort of sloshing compensation system due to the shallow tank, to keep the needle from bouncing around or something.
