Bags in the Back Empty
PostSubject: Bags in the Back   Bags in the Back EmptySun Feb 27, 2011 11:17 pm

After our little field trip today I think I have been drawn to the dark side. Twisted Evil

I am seriously considering putting air bags in the back end of the Ghia. Twisted Evil

They are not much more money than doing adjustable spring plates and new torsion arms.

Still researching the ride and handling characteristics, but as far as fine adjustments in height, they seem to be the way to go.

Plus, I think the midlife crisis younger version of me likes the idea of having her set at a driving height for performance and then having the ability to slam her to the ground in the parking lot. Cool

There is a fair amount of fabrication involved with the trailing arms.

If I only knew someone who has a Ghia with IRS that we could fabricate the air bags on first and then transfer them to May... Hmmm... scratch

I put air bags on my El Camino when I owned it. Airbagit.com I believe is the web site. I understand it is not to bad. I had a long conversation with a guy a Bug-o-rama about the back and it was pretty easy. He was also very talented.
