| Jeff we should do a megasquirt system. Or a Megajolt (the ignition side) Buy two systems one tester. You would save so much money and be so happy. It not suppose e to to hard.
I like what I have on my Porsche but it is a 10 plus old SDS system. No spark control. That pretty important with a turbo system or any other system.
I have a few throttle bodies if you want to go that look, but I just think one single throttle body would be a lot less headache, set it once and forget it.

| It was a little under hundred bucks for the v3.0 board. I am fairly certain I have all the components so I did not need the whole kit.
I also purchased the relay board and the stimulator kit.
I did not order the MS3 daughter card as I am not sure the added features would be of benefit on a simple engine.
I can always add it later if needed.
I do not know if I really need the relay board. But I was thinking I could wire the relay board up behind the firewall and then have the MS EFI unit up front under the 'bonnet' with a cable in the glovebox for my laptop. But it might just be easier to have the EFI unit on the back of the firewall with a cable for the laptop coming forward. But at least I will have options.
The stimulator allows you to plug into the MegaSquirt and it simulates a motor connnection for testing the unit itself, I figured that would be a good idea. | |

| I ordered the MegaSquirt I kit with the PCB v3.0 board. For EFI on an aircooled VW I don't think there is any need for the additional 'features' the MegaSquirt II & III kits provide. But if there is a need the v3.0 boards can be upgraded to the II and III with an additional daughter card. I also have the Stimulator to test the MegaSquirt, so no need to order one of those if you don't want to. I also have plenty of the 'tuning' cables. They are just a standard DB9 straight through cable. I have also decided I am also going to use the 'relay board' in the engine compartment. I need to order one of those. | |

| I am going to the top. I want launch control, crank trigger, and boost. I would love to have a track setup and a street. I let my kids drive my cars. I will do some research and let you know when I am going to order. I would not mind getting some cable, like you I like using relays.
Thanks | |

| I'll split the cost of the 12 foot wiring bundle if you want.
6 foot would be plenty to wire all the sensors up to a relay box in a VW/Porsche.
Their wire is nice as it is color coded AND labeled on the jacket like every 4 to 6 inches.
I thought about the MS3 to do boost control, but I just wanted something to do while it rained so I figured I could build it in stages.
The crank trigger is a nice option too.
I think I want to find an engine to build for May, like a 1915, to try the EFI on a 'naturally aspirated' motor.
