I just started last year after a 30+ year dry spell of no fishing at all. Of course being me and into things that are different than the norm, I found Tenkara Fly Fishing, an old Japanese method of Fly Fishing where only a long fly rod, a fly line, and a fly are used. I said that right, NO REEL. This is not crappie pole or dapping stick but honest to goodness fly fishing with a similar casting style as western fly fishing and you have tight loops in the line and casting right to where you need it to be. Very fun, more simple than western gear, and anyone can do it.
Anyway, I started last year and can't wait to go fishing this year once the rivers settle down. For anyone interested in something like this, watch this TenkaraUSA video and it shows you all about Tenkara.
Enjoy!

A couple of years ago I got into fly fishing real bad. Spent a bundle and caught like two fish. Loved every one of those fish. Someday I will pick it up again. Nothing like it.

Ahh... Carr lake. That is where I park then I hike in and set up camp at Island lake. The Grouse Ridge area is AWESOME... about 11 little lakes all within about 6 to 7 miles.
Only access is by hiking.. except Carr.. you can park close to that one. There is a few others you can drive to as well..
But caught a really nice brook trout in a stream connecting the little lakes one time.. not huge but an awesome fighter.
Great area! lot's of fun.

That is a lot of mosquitos. It took me like a day and a half to figure out that it was a million.
Why didn't you just type 'million', it would have been much simpler.

I see what you are saying, much more 'exagerative'.
