| That bug is really pretty clean! Shouldn't take much to make it a good little driver. |

| That IS pretty nice. Save the aluminum trim, and get some for the front. A fully dressed VW is a happy VW, and it came with it. Don't go the cheap route with plain black. Looks like you have the other three sets, and the rubber with the channel for it is no more expensive. The petina while retaining all of it's original doo-dads and charms adds big to the overall effect. | |

| I pulled the back glass window out of the car today and cleaned up both pieces on the kitchen table (thanks honey). They are by no means perfect, but they're OG and in pretty darn good shape. Just cleaning them up made a huge difference. I ordered new rubbers and metal trim from WW today also. All lathered up Not too shabby at all Got the back glass all cleaned up also | |

| It's the front one that's a bitch.
Some nice detailing and it'll be a nice little car. Careworn but clean as a bell will be nice.

| I got the seats stripped down also. I will have the frames sand blasted and painted and then on with new upholstery. There must have been a "heavy hauler" that owned this car at one point. The driver's side seat back is mutilated. I've never seen one so busted up. The scary part is, it has been repaired once before and even the welded repairs broke! My luck never works this way but, I had a '65/'66 seat in my '63 when I bought it. It is the wrong seat for the '63 so I just kinda put that seat aside, not really knowing what I was going to do with one seat. Well when I saw this seat and how bad it was, I thought "Oh great! Now I've gotta find a one-year-only seat!". And then, I started looking at it a little closer and I realized that the broken/bent frame of this seat is removable and is completely interchangable with that extra seat I have. SCORE! Both front seats all stripped down The back seat What was left when I was done. | |

| Before you go making a color decision, I think I have a brand new set of brick red and white door panels that would fit. Might be better than "cheapest available" basic black that's been done to death. Then you could go with red seat covers and the interior would really been a cut above. I paid $40 for the door panels. It's a complete set of four.
Remember, look on The Samba for stuff, too. I got all of my interior in Herbie previously-owned-but-new-in-the-box.

| Man Greg.. for a "daily driver" Crusty is getting the treatment. Looks to be in pretty good shape over all for the money.
I would have got her road worthy and drove it as is... you have more patience than I my friend
