| Has anyone tried this?. I want to shave the gas filler door(1970) and was curious if anyone has some ideas on how to re-route the gas filler tube. Im thinking of just putting on a 90 degree tube on with an after market gas cap. I also have the spare 65' gas tank and wondered if that would fit. | |

| Yep.. use the older tank. That is what is in my 68' now. Shaved filler door and older tank. Works great and looks good.
You could do a 90 degree, but then trying to seal that up will be a pain in the butt

| Use the early tank. Even with a 90 elbow, it's REAL inconvenient to put in gas because the hood is still kinda in the way. |

| These guys are right. Early tank. You'll need the 1962 and on style tank. I think it changed again in 1968 but I am not sure. | |
