Brakes pulling?

what is the most common reason for front brakes to pull left or right?

Mine just started pulling to the right (passenger) side today. Not to awful, but still very noticeable. I adjusted the drivers side a little tighter, but did not change anything.

What are your ideas?

First thing I would look at is a clogged or pinched driverside brakeline or frozen wheel cylinder.

No pinches... I had the driver side wheel off to do bearings... looked over every thing.. outside looks good. Will have to do a bleed next to see if there is fluid. Wheel cylinder looked okay also.

When my 1st thing had this issue, it was a rubber break-line that was bad. Over time the rubber swelled and the hole was so small that limited fluid would go back and forth inside and started sticking on that side. I would bet hose of the cylinders looked good.

Yeah most likely its going to be internal restriction.

Most common causes would be the adjustment of the shoes or bad brake hoses. Could also be saturated shoes but that seems unlikely seems how it was fine just before you started working on it.

Mine did the same thing. It would pull to the right. Bad driver's side hose.

Well.. sounds like a hose. So I will pick up 2 new hoses for the front and swap them out when we do my beam on Saturday

PFI does not have stainless BTW.

I saw Cliff had some nice stainless on his 'other' pan. Not sure of the years, but maybe they would fit and maybe he would swap?

Or since tomorrow is only Tuesday maybe online?

I would do stainless, only do it once.

Yeah.. but short on cash. I will see. I have to go back anyway, they gave me the wrong outer wheel bearings today.. way to big. So I swapped out the rear bearing and seal and cleaned and put the old outer bearing back in for now.

So I will see what they get to order the stainless.. Hey, if the old hoses lasted this long>> LOL

The more I think of it, the more I am convinced that it might be the hose.. The noise I was hearing was not the wheel bearing after all, but the brake lightly rubbing... it just all the sudden stopped making the noise early today and I noticed the brake pulling a bit harder to the right.. but changed out the driver wheel bearing anyway.

Hoses. Wolfsburg West.
They're I think $17 each. Maybe less. Don't skimp and buy from JC or MAM. You'll just be changing them again in 2 years.

Hoses are the most overlooked item in the brakes and originally had a posted service life of 6-8 years. Good hoses now last 10-20.

Kyle I agree and lots of failures lately. On Bugs, Cadillac. This is not a part that should come from China. Buy quality

Wolfsburg west has German and Brazilian hoses. They are quite impressed by the Brazilian and it's 1/2 the price.

They won't carry junk and will tell you flat out if there's a quality difference, unlike MAM who insists everything they have is top notch (which it's not).

NOT ON THE PAN SINCE JAN. THEY CAME OFF TO GO ON MY DRIVER. THEY ARE THE EARLY MODEL LIKE 12 OR 15 INCH LINES (NEEDED THE LENGTH FOR THE BEAM EXTENTION) I GOT THEM AT BUGFORMANCE. THEY WERE LIKE $12-15 EACH.

I WAS JUST DOING ALL 4 LINES ON TJS THING.
