Tech Day's?

I got a PM today asking if Sactown had Tech Days. That got me wondering. What all is involved in Tech Days? Does the host of it have to work on the car or is it a group effort?

I'm asking because I am currently discussing it with hubby about maybe hosting tech day's here at our place. Just don't think he would want to be the Tech! LOL If it was a group effort, it may be easier for me to talk him into it! LOL

So what all is involved in a Tech Day? Guess I should ask, would anyone be interested in having Tech Day's here in the Sac area. We are located down the street form Bugformance, just to give you an idea of where they will be held.

Hi Kim, I have hosted tech days for motorcycles for about five years. The biggest issue with a tech day is space. At Saturdays Tech day in Alta I was discussing this very topic with Cliff. At Cliffs shop there is a lot of flat area for cars to be worked on as well as for parking of cars that are not being worked on. Of course you will need one or more Guru's to assist in advice. Tools are a kind of host option, I always had my tools there for anyone wanting to use them. Other tech day hosts require tools to be brought in,your preference. When you advertise your tech day just let people know what you will and will not have on hand. Its always good if the people coming let you know what they plan to fix. That way you can monitor time and space. And the final comment is...YES I would love to attend a tech day in Sac!!!! Breck

Kim, we've talked about Sactown having tech days but we just haven't had a place to have them. We have even talked about having mobile tech days (ie; going to people's houses that need help. Not everybody's car is mobile and that's part of the problem or reason why they would need the help). I was going to cover all of this at the meeting this Thursday.

I have a nice driveway and 3 car garage. I can park 4 to 5 cars on a flat surface to work on with plenty of parking near by. I will chime in on Thursday!! Breck

I can deliver a Bus that day.....

I am not in tune with all the other events that are part of this group. So I will pick a date and wait for conflicts to arrive. If I am causing one please let me know and I will try again. Now folks these are conflicts with other scheduled events for the group!!! Not ones with your mom or the dentist!!! LOL u know what I mean. The only tech day rule that I have is that you each cart your own garbage out with you, particularly your oil!!!!! I have had some strang looks trying to get rid of crap loads of oil!!! Start at 9:30 am leave when bored, Bring your own drinks. I will provide coffee the first round and put a bucket out for donations, if I recover my cost I will keep it up. If someone is planning a day long project please send me a messge ahead of time and I will hold them a spot closer to tools and air. It also helps if you chime in if you plan to show and need space to work. A head count always helps to alert the neighbors before we group in masses. Breck

Tech day is what?
