| I'm in San Francisco, but my best buddy Dann lives in Grass Valley so I'm up your way frequently. I'll try to post here when I can but I'm pretty busy as Administrator of . LoveBugfans and webmaster of the main website. I'm going to try to plan my visits to the area on the weekends of your meets. That'll be a really nice bonus and I look forward to meeting you in the future. We're always interested in supporting new VW clubs and forums. Here's a couple pictures of my cars. | The wheels are 15X6 and are custom made by Boltons in Los Angeles. | |

| Stockton Wheels does do the widening but I believe they are more expensive. Boltons is reasonable and has a fast turnaround. | |

| YEA! We can keep him in a big pit full of metal working equipment and instead of "It puts the lotion on its skin" all he will hear is "It puts the welder to the metal" Um... I don't know where these thoughts come from??? I am looking for my therapist's number now... | |

| How did I miss this? Thanks. Yes, I get SOOOO many comments on these wheels. They were worth every penny. YEA! For once, I'M not the one who made the post take a turn for the pervy. Here's the (click here) latest info on wide wheel prices from three places. The important stuff is reprinted below. If you tell Bolton's you want 15 x 6 Herbie wheels, they know exactly what to make. It's actually pinned up on their board. It's about as wide as you can go without rubbing issues. remember, you want to tell anyone who you have do this to keep the stock/original rear offset. --------------------------------------------------- Boltons Classic Wheels 16516 South Western Ave Gardena, CA 90247 (310) 763-6621 or (310) 538-5046 Quote. 6-1-10 15 x 6, your core, new outer, unpainted, no clips. $65 each. NOTE: Different members have gotten different quotes. I told the man I spoke to I was from LoveBugFans and that they were for a Herbie and got the lower $65 quote. This has been true every time I call them. They may have a soft spot for Herbie, so it won't hurt to compliment their work up front. "Hi, my name's so-and-so, and I need wide wheels for my Herbie project. The other members at LoveBugFans had nothing but good things to say about your services so I thought I'd call you first...." Additional wheel widening services : Custom and Commercial Wheel 17866 Valley Blvd. Bloomington, CA 92316 Bus: 909-357-3505 Fax: 909-357-0443 Quote. 6-12-08 15 x 6, your core, new outer, unpainted, no clips. $72.50 each. Quote. 3-23-11 15 x 6, your core, new outer, unpainted, $70.00 each. Add $12.50 for powder coating. www.customcommercialwheel.com/ (Website inactive March, 2011. It's being rebuilt and will be back on line in the next 60 days.) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Also: Stockton Wheel 648 W. Fremont St. Stockton, CA 95203 (800) 395-9433 Quote. 6-12-08 15 x 6, your core, new outer, unpainted, no clips. $149 each. www.stocktonwheel.com/--------------------------------------------------------------------- When contacting, be sure to describe 15" or 14"', and 6", with standard negative (rear) offset (backside of rim remains the same. Widening is done so wheel is wider towards the outside of the car. Be sure also to ask if they need your original wheels for the centers and how much to ship the new wheels to you.

| My 5 1/2 wide 67 wheels rub on the inside not much but they rub. I may have the short axle I dont know. So back spacing is so important | |
