Old Datsuns

We got to talkin' bout' some other cool old cars on another thread, and were rudely reminded to talk some where else. So here we are...

This was my POS Datsun I was working on in Colorado.. not to bad for 400 bucks and drove it home.



But this was my goal for it..

I love the old Datsuns, Toyotas, etc. These trucks were great. Matt is just mad he doesn't have one.

I would not go as far as saying I was rude. OK the submarine comment might have been a bit over the top.

But hey I get it. I am a product of the '80s. I remember the whole slammed mini scene.

We used to cruise Market Street in Riverside and you were not allowed to 'stand around' or loiter on the sidewalk.

So people would park their minis and we would stand in the back of those...

It's cool and old skool..

Admittedly, those older pickups are not really my thing...but that Datsun is pretty badass. Dann's Courier needs a bit of a 'tude like that one.

I have been looking for an old Datsun for my Grandfather. They are getting so hard to find and damn expensive!

Yep.. I really have been looking for one. Your right, people are asking a fortune for them... I will find one in the weeds some where.

Oh yeah, they're still out there. People still haven't caught on that they're desirable yet.

We may be getting a one owner 240Z garaged, original owner kind of exited. i would think within the next year.

Those 240z's were awesome.

Yes, they were special.

(although they still rust from the inside)

But I would buy one, drive it for a month, and then trade it for a VW!

You may be about 6 years late on the calling of the car. We have been friends for a long time. We dont push because it is special to her. In time it may be in the fleet.

IF it is the same one.

I am going to tell him you are going to put a Honda motor in it.

That will fix you...

Now Matt dont tell any stories. We got a new Honda motor last night for the SI. That way we can get it back on the road and rebuild the old one. I have never rebuilt a Honda, we will probably prep it for boost.

Better prep it for nitrous too.
