Thinking about it...

Few people know this was supposed to be a Volkswagen model. It was designed in house almost entirely by VW and was turned over to Porsche as not fitting in with the brand.

a first of may experiments between car company's that go wrong or someone dies just before the car goes on sale.

Actually was a handshake deal between Porcshe and VW.. Yes.. VW did most of the work. Was supposed to be sold as a VW with the 4cyl engines to replace the Karmann Ghia and sold as a Porcshe with the 6cyl. Then the guy that did the handshake deal died and everyone denied the deal.. so Porcshe took over the whole thing.. buying its parts from VW.

Also a fact, that the original badge had Volkswagen on one side of the back and Porcshe on the other side.. but the Porcshe dealerships of USA decided to make them all Porcshe. So when you see a 914 from out of country, it should have both badges on the back.

My opinion.. this guy is asking upper end for it.. it is clean and worth the money, but I have seen some pretty nice ones sell around 3000.00.. especially in the bay area.

That is a nice looking 914. They are cool little cars.

I love mine. Mine has been on the road most of its life as far as I can tell.
