Back end hopping around and all.

Maybe we should do a hotpipe turbo setup with Nos to cool iats a bit. This thing has potential being all stripped out, and the rust is weight reduction.

What about a turbo?

Today I installed my Pick-n-Pull special motor.

Had to do some minor assembly. I borrowed the fuel pump and coil from my old Super Beetle's motor. Valve adjustment, topped off the oil.

Shop was full so I did it outside.

While the battery was charging, I wired in the voltage regulator, and replaced the engine wiring.

So then it wouldn't start, I checked and re-set the point gap, fiddled with the timing, then pulled the distributor and put in the 009 with Comp-u-fire ignition from the old super Beetle's motor.

Some starting fluid, started right up, and I must say it ran pretty good on the old gas.



As you can see, it's missing the Mustache Bar, which I am searching for. I had to get creative on fabricating a mount for it. (Don't ask, it's very primitive). Notice the engine is leaning to the right a tad?

Now that it's running, what's next? Drive it obviously.

Adjusted the clutch and away I went. Did I mention there's no throttle cable? Well there's not, so I putted around at sub-10 mph for a while. I do know that 1st and Reverse work.

All-in-all, a successful day.

I saw a couple of Mustache Bars a BOR always to late

I was looking at BOR but didn't see any. Might not have known where to look.

So how fast was it from 0-10?
