I saw this place the last time I went down there camping. It was foggy and there were little yellow glows in the windows on that cliff, almost like a Stephen King (hmmm, more like Dean Koontz) novel. It was built 100 years ago and has been renovated. No cell service, no phones, no tvs. BUT it has wifi in the rooms, so not completely unreachable in an emergency. Hearst Castle is an hour away. There's a restaurant for guests.

And the drive is DELICIOUS in a lowered bug... Just sayin'.

Hugo will hopefully be rolling by November and their rates drop then. Go before the holidays, less fog, not too cold.

Maybe take a long weekend and bring the fam's?

If May is on the road by then, we're in!!!!

If the drive is 'delicious' in a lowered bug, I can only imagine what it would be like in a lowered Ghia!

SPECTACULAR!

Mateo, you are so easy. Wink BTW: The cheetah run is this Sunday and I'm sorry to say that I won't be going since my car's not ready. I think you were the only taker on coming with me. Sorry about that.

So, I'm going to check with Fedex for dates available to take off in early Nov, and will update later.

Also, for those that can't be so spendy as the motel, the camping nearby is AWESOME. Two in particular, down Hwy 1 a bit. These are state park sites at both of these, only $22 a night.

Kirk Creek Campground is ON the cliff also, but is first come first served, so I have never made it there in time. Here's pics:

And Plaskett Creek Campground is a few more miles and it's actually a nicer campground, I stayed there with my little RV. Nice, quiet, and clean and private spaces not to close together.

Anything, and I mean anything, on the coast and I am in.

I can't get enough of the Pacific. I used to live on Redondo Beach for a time at it was a wonderful thing.

Bummer about the Cheetah run, I guess I will just have to go watch the Thundercat movie when it comes out <kidding>.

Maybe next time...

So, I was thinking of this place while driving today and if we stay near Halloween time....

They finished their Guiness' by the stove's fire in their cottage, satisfied after an exhilarating day driving the coastline. The fog rolled in as the distant lonely lighthouse horn warned. But that same beautiful and peaceful mist enshrouded the unspeakable evil as it crept up the cliffside, burning with hatred for them, yearning to unleash its fury....

Yeah, I read entirely too much Koontz in college...
