| I used to live in Portland. I moved down here for the promotion I got when I became the Assistant Manager. I have put in my required 4 years here so now it's time to make my next move, Manager. When doing this, a store comes open, the big-wigs pick you for that location from the list of qualified guys. Which means I could end up anywhere. I could go to Grass Valley, CA.......Missoula, MT.........Provo, UT.......Aberdeen, WA. Literally anywhere there's a Les Schwab. I had never been to California when I got picked for West Sacramento. It's kinda scary but kinda exciting at the same time. I hated it here when we moved to Sac. But now, I don't want to leave.
Anyway, it'll probably be sometime this next year. You will all know as it progresses. | |

| Wow! I'm sure it's a great company, but that seems harsh. What about your kids, owning a home, parents that may need help, that's an upheaval for most people. But, I can see how you feel about being excited too. Nice to know that you get to experience a new place and have a good/better job waiting when you arrive. BTW: The manager at Les Schwab at Auburn is Tom C. He was in Auburn Hot VW's back when Ray and I started it in 1983. We go way back. Great guy.  | |

| Yea, There is a good and bad to it.
But if you move Gregg, no worries we can still be pen pals, or email pals, or Skype pals, whatever the kids are calling it these days.
Now I am still wondering how she drove in those shoes.

| It is hard. We didn't buy a house when we moved here because we knew it'd be temporary. That and the housing market We home school/charter school the kids so we don't have to worry about damaging them from hopping around. It's just part of it. Les Schwab is a great company and they take VERY good care of their employees. Sure there are sacrifices but they compensate us well for our troubles. | |
