Auburn Cruise Night: Friday, May 11

Greetings Earthlings,

This coming Friday is the first Auburn Cruise Night of the year. Mothership Otto is ready to roll, so I will be there. Hope some of you can make it too.

NAG Saturday night though....

For those who don't know about this, Auburn has a cruise night the second Friday of each month from May through August. I can't remember if there is one in September. Anyway, the Chamber of Commerce shuts down Lincoln Way to traffic and they have people bring their classics and rods and we park all along the upper part of Lincoln Way. It's a pretty big deal and their is food and music too. It's usually a pretty interesting mix of cars. I have to check with the Chamber, but I believe you have to have your car there before 5:00 p.m.

There is a cruise night scheduled in September. It is always the second Friday night of each month, starting in May. They start turning the cars around at approximately 5:00 pm. Try to park on the shady side of the street. For dinner, try the Little Salad Shop. They have good sandwiches at a relatively reasonable price. The Royal Thai restaurant is very good, but a bit pricey. There is also a good sushi place (I can't remember the name) and a nearby ice cream and yogurt shop. The Cruise Nights are a blast! They are dominated by Detroit Iron, but the VWs and a few British cars are a good contrast.

If you plan on parking on Lincoln Way with the cars, you need to be there between 3 and 4 pm. Cat and I will be there about 3:30. It would be nice if we could all park together, but that doesn't always happen.

If you talk to the Lions guys that run the show they try to put you together. I know the Guy with the Hawaii Bus will be there. I have the 71 yellow convertacble

Ray is correct about getting there early. The first show of a series each year attracts the most participants. There will probably be over 300 cars.

who all is going. i should be leaving antelope at about 3:15 (the wife is getting of early to head up with me)

is anyone doing a meetring spot for a cruise up

Congrats Ray and Tony. Ray are you going to ever start working on Hugo again? Two months and counting, it *was* my DD...... I'm losing all hope.

Great pics Lonny. I came by after work, and still caught Cat, Kyle, and Tommy, but most of the cars were gone. Still a great time last night, went to Mel's for dinner.

I just want the motor to be finished. I get it for test drives and he wanted me to do passes to dial it in. I think 9 months to build an engine is adequate... I want it back.
