TELL ME ABOUT IT. I HAD 1 TODAY!!!!! THE ONLY REASON IM STILL AT THE SHOP IS I HAD TO GO TOW A 68 BUG BACK HERE. ITS A CUSTOMERS CAR AND TO START IM DOING A WIRING HARNESS. DOWN THE ROAD POSSIBLY A ENGINE REFRESH, BRAKES, ETC. ITS BEEN SITTING FOR SEVERAL YEARS.

Headline news California DMV fee's down 90 present from last year. We must raise fees to make up the loss. And the truth is if they will stop playing with us our state will be just fine. Do you know when a politician is lying??

YUP. ACTUALLY THE "LICENSE" FEES WENT DOWN AND THE "REGISTRATION" WENT UP!!! HERES A DIRECT COPY FROM THE DMV WEBSITE:

"DMV can begin processing July 1, 2011, and later registration renewals either:
•On the vehicle’s registration expiration date; or,
•Once the registration renewal notice has been generated, whichever comes first.

Fee changes include:
•Vehicle License Fee rate decreased from 1.15% to 0.65%, and,
•A $12 increase in the registration fee (from $34 to $46)."


SO WHAT THIS ALL MEANS IS THE LICENSE FEE DROPPED ABOUT $1-$3 (LICENCE FEES I BELIEVE WERE ABOUT $18 OR 19 FOR THE STANDARD PLATES. OF COARSE MORE FOR THE PERSONALIZED PLATES) AND THE REGISTRATION FEES WENT UP ABOUT 35%
