| Shaved the fenders, relocated the turn signals to the bumper, and blacked out the lenses to keep them hidden. | |

| To David
I noticed that you were installing new ball joints. Where did you purchase them and how are you getting them pressed ?

| I got them from Wolfgang International.
Greg's VW Service is doing the work for me, so he's having them pressed in. Not sure if he does it, or if he takes them somewhere.
Bugformance in Sacramento told me before they sell stock spindles with ball joints already pressed in, and you have to turn in your old ones. I think they were like $50 a piece as I recall.

| Just got the car back. New: -ball joints -drop spindles -tie rods -steering dampner -wheel bearings Upon getting it home, I tore into it and replaced the shocks. The fronts are brand new, and the rears I salvaged from my wrecked 74 Super Beetle, which I put those shocks on in June, 2010, and wrecked it in september 2010. They're brand new. | |

| I need to take some day pictures. Just driving it around the driveway, the tires rub the fenders a little bit. I'm going to drive it and see how bad it is. But will probably have to get some lower profile tires. | |

| I drove it to work today, the tires were rubbing on corners and bumps. Then I gave a co-worker a ride, and that made the right front tire rub the fender non-stop, even causing the tire to smoke, and blistering the primer on the fender edge. I called up someone I know, and agreed upon a trade. So now I have a set of 185/60/15s on the front. These were on one of my old Bugs I had. So now I have them back, and the tires don't rub the fenders. They do rub on the inside when the steering wheel is locked all the way to one side or the other. | |

| Looks good. Sound like you might even need a smaller tire still. | |

| The doors are pretty rusty, so I borrowed the doors off my wrecked 74 Super. Couple reasons,
1. I already did bodywork on them a couple years ago, therefore they are already straight.
2. This fixed the issue I had with the broken vent window lock.
3. I like the Sport mirrors better.
4. I also like the stainless steel door window visors.

| Oh, The reason for the grey primer on the doors is because I filled in the trim holes.
And the overspray on the rear quarter panels is because I painted the doorjambs black.

I think four-tone is more accurate. Off-White, Grey Primer front end, Black Primer doors, Tan hood.

| Rusty, crusty rear apron. Fenders removed. | |

| Drilled out the spot welds and pulled the apron off. Put the new one on. I pulled a Type 4 and left it loose, making it easily removable. | |
