Here's some stills from my collection.
May 1980 BOR, would that be #5?
Browers Auto Body sponsoring the show.
"WOW A V8" And remember the wheel stand guy?
Meadow Vista Automotive, I remember him because he was a local guy.
Hugo in the show:
Irony at it's finest: Steve Brower's show car, I took the pic of the interior because I liked it. Met him later and bought it when he gutted it to make his racecar. It's now in my car still today (see my dyno video on the Engine build thread from yesterday).
BOR - May, 1982. I shot Ray and Gary's run, but didn't meet him until the following month when I burned up my 1300 stock engine in Hugo. It was bracket racing and I'm sure that Ray will point out that is the only reason Gary is ahead of him...
Ooooooh, a TV in a car!
I must have liked this interior, I took 3 pics of it.

Okay, I'm getting some vhs vids online... A VHS to DVD converter software for Mac is on my Xmas list.....
Anyhoo, these are from BOR XV. I will work on some more later...
Part 1 consists mostly of the gathering and cruise to the event, LOTS of cars and maybe some faces that people will recognize and identify? Starts out with the plane at the track, didn't the owner of the raceway used to fly in?
Part 2 gets in to the part in the pits, same event.

Doh! I just looked and, yes, you are a friend already. I love your Shriners gallery and vids. And the old school pics too. Funny, we both have been thinking retro this week.

I spied that black Ghia as well. Nice! I like the flared fenders...
A black Ghia would be sweet, but man, talk about getting it to look good.
All those curves and shiny black paint.

BOR 1985 - Part 4
Show and swap/vendors. Back when the show was against the fence of the staging lanes. Racing starts at 6.00. Warming the tires at the box seemed to take longer since not many had line locks, lots of overshooting and backing up. The wonderful Rick Mortensen announcing at the track!
Is it just me or does Ray's car always sound obvious because the rpm's are so much higher?

BOR 1985 - Part 5
Duane Pizzo's dragster wrecks early in this video. Also, at 10.00 is a DD silver bug driven by Laura Kendall (videographer Mark's wife) that was in Ray's stable. And then Lynda's bus is up. Ahhh, back when he had 4 cars at every race...

Lots of recognizable racers here. Who's child is that being taken away by ambulance, anyone recall?

These are awesome. Although I don't have to worry about looking for me. I was just getting my learners permit. Still had a year before I got my bug. I didn't start going to Bugoramas till I was in my 20's! LOL

I miss the bikini contests but not the engine blow. I always thought that was sad. There was one time that one went for close to 30 minutes and it was like 96 degrees that day. I remember thinking to myself what a good little motor that would've been.

I guess you could say that the flat bed was really haullin' ass.
Oh I am gonna get it for that one.
Anyway, I think I spied a 'bare midriff' in the tower as well.
