To get the best parking....we need to get near the front of the caravan...which means arriving at Niello BY 5:30 AM AM AM....not kidding In the past we met at the Target on Madison and 80 at 5am and left at 5:15..... Thats my plan...Kyle

what speed does the CHP run the caravan?

The CHP has a drivers meeting with everyone to make sure the caravan goes smooth. Once on the freeway people need to stay in one lane for safety as the police bikes will come by at 100mph

The first thing I pictured in my mind was my Toyota in the caravan dragging my Bug's body down the freeway on it's heater channels, trying to keep up with everyone, sparks flying everywhere!

The caravan is supposed to run at 50 mph but the last time I did this we were up around 70mph.

Ok Kyle I will see you at Target on Sunday morning. Who all plans to attend which of the weekend events? I think that I would like to make the Sonic gig and of course the Sunday run. Not sure about the others tho.... Maybe Bugformance

The caravan moves at freeway speeds when it get's on the Cap City FWY all the way to the Sierra College off ramp and then things start to backup once you make the left turn onto 193 to get into the ranch. Anywhere from 50mph to 70mph depending on who you are following.

You are instructed to stay single file and obey all traffic laws. But there are those that zip by with their cameras and other that need to 'clear out their carbs' It's pretty low key and fun!

I am always conflicted, driving in the caravan is fun but I think it would be cool to park along Sierra College Blvd and watch the parade of flat 4s (oh and there are a bunch of submarines too)...

we wont make it this year...bad timing. Drum corps show on Sat and out of town company we have at our house. Also going to a concert Sat night so I'm leaving Dewey home w company...can't do 2 days in a row.

The run was fun, but as you said, it does get backed up at 193.

YES!!!! I am now officially registered for this years run. I will see you all on Sunday. This is probably my favorite event of the year. I LOVE TO CRUISE !!!!!
