My new '65 Bug...the one that started it all.

I can see the future, Greg's VW sales opens for business.

Kind of late to the party, but congrats on getting the bug. What a great history on it! Too Cool. Makes me want to go see if my old teachers VW is still around. Not sure if I could even find his house again. He used to give me rides home and I thought it was the neatest thing to be able to ride in a bug, my favorite car!

Congrats again. Can't wait to see it in person.

I got a chance to talk to dad last night and he said he had fun cleaning all of the garbage out of the car on Sunday. After crawling all over the car, he said the only rust he saw was there is a slight rust-crack under the battery tray but other than that, everything looks good. He also mentioned that both front and rear aprons look to be damage-free and he is just generally surprised at what kind of shape the whole car is in, especially for sitting for so long.

Awesome.

I think Dad has a new toy.....

Just an update on Ruby...

She's now a running, driving car. An oil change, valve adjust, new battery and fresh gas and she fired right up! The brakes have been gone through, she got a new exhaust system, a replaced turn signal switch and a new headlight. Her fuel line was plugged up solid but we were able to bust through that and fuel is now running through her veins again. I bought some new wheels and tires for her. I went with the gunmetal-spoked Raders and was pretty proud of myself until I mounted them on the car. Atrocious fenderwell gaps provoked me to order a 4 inch narrowed adjustable beam from Late Night Aircooled. It should be delivered and ready to install in about 3-4 weeks. Pics to follow.

Here she is after her first drive in 20 years





And here she is getting her first bath in a long time. Dad really enjoyed it. Lol.

And here she is with her new wheels. I'm sure you can see why I decided to order a beam. After we get her hunkered down just a little bit, she'll look just right!



And I rounded up an old set of old blue n' yellow Oregon plates and a Gateway Volkswagen plate frame from Portland. My parents grew up in Portland and they remember Gateway Volkswagen in the 60's
