Ray from the Capitol Concours contacted me and is looking for some 1962 VWs bugs, type II, type III. Karmann Ghias. He is doing the 1962 display so that is what he is looking for. If you have or know of someone that has a 1962 VW please look into this. Please read below.
I am looking for any 1962 cars for a special display celebrating the 50th year of the automobile. Of course, any car and enter the concours, but for my display, it will be 1962 cars only. I would appreciate any help you can provide to me. The net proceeds from the event will benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children and the California Auto Museum.
Dear, 1962 Car Owners
The Capitol Concours would to cordially invite you and your 1962 automobile for a special 50th anniversary display. We would like to showcase the era with special cars and major events happenings throughout this time period. This special display is part of the Capitol Concours and your can be judged according to the SCCA rule book.
Capitol Concours presented by Wells Fargo Bank, in its 18th year, will take place on Sunday, June 10, 2012 on the Capitol Mall in downtown Sacramento, California. Earn points for your vehicle in this SCCA judged event while benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Northern California and the California Auto Museum who will split equally all net proceeds.
Entry Fee: $50 per vehicle
To be eligible for SCCA judging, entries must be postmarked no later than April 27, 2012. Acceptance letters will be mailed after April 25, 2012. Application fees are non-refundable. Fees include: Admission for 2 adults, 2 lunch tickets and an event program. Additional entry tickets may be purchased for $20 each. Please call or email me of your attendance as space is limited for this special display.
