Apple Hill Cruise - September 15, 2012

Hey all. We wanted to plan a cruise up to Apple Hill and make a few stops while there.

We will have two meeting spots. Here are the details:

First meeting spot: Meet at Bugformance at 745 and leave out at 8. Then caravan to next meeting spot
Second meeting spot: Meet at KMart off Sunrise and 50 (NAG meetup) at 830 and leave out at 845

We will then all caravan up to Apple hill and make these stops:

First stop Abe's Apple Acres 2345 Carson Road
Second Stop Boa Vista Orchards 2952 Carson Road
Third Stop Grandpa's Celler 2360 Cable Road
Last Stop Jack Russell Farm Brewery and Winery 2380 Larsen Drive
Probably stay 30-60 min at each site depending on how people feel. The first two are close to each other as are the last two.

Lets try to get a head count of who all is planning to go so we know what to expect for the caravan and who to wait for at the meeting spots.

I would love to make this event. Just not in the aircooled.

Sounds like fun but I think I will pass. The only VW I own that I trust to get there and back right now is my Westy, and if I take it, I will be left in the dust going up the "hill"!! LOL I was doing about 30 to 35 mph going up the hills going to Angels Camp. Only reason I wasn't left in the dust then was because it was a 2 lane highway instead of a 4 lane freeway!

I'm taking Betty so I won't leave you in the dust Kim

I hate to say it but I think almost any VW will leave me in the dust, unless it is another Westy! LOL

I think that this will be a fun trip. Keep us posted of its progress.

Exactly Kim. No rush. We get there when we get there. Breck it sounds super fun!

I'm possibly in. But would meet everyone there since I would take hwy 49 south from Auburn. There's also a 100 mile endurance ride (horses) in Virginia City that I was going to go to, so we'll see. Will check back as it gets closer. Thanks for organizing it Andy!

Sounds fun. I hope I can make it happen.

Should make a stop at El Dorado Rd. off HWY 50 to pick up any State Route folks that want to join in.

State Route folks, I would take the following route since I drive this often:

Highway 49 through Cool.

Right turn at Lotus Road.

Left turn at Green Valley Road.

Stay to the right onto Missouri Flat Rd.

Turn right on El Dorado Road. There are a bunch of places to meet at that intersection.

Just a thought, nice drive...

If you stay on HWY 49 past Lotus Road, through Coloma, and into hangtown (Placerville) it gets REAL curvy...

i hope we have lots cars show up would be great to have ton of us take over the apple hills lol bugs are comming

Ok so far, we have Lita, Lonny, and me...who else? we only have a few more days to go guys

Right now the only thing stopping me is this cold. If I'm over it by Saturday, I'm in.

I'm in if I can convince my wife to go. I'll find out tonight.

If you are planning to join us Sat for the Apple Hill run please indicate where you will meet us at; Bugformance (7:45 am) or Kmart off Sunrise (8:30 am) NAG meet up location). If you are coming down from the foothills and would like us to meet you off Hwy 50 please let us know a good meet up spot.
