WELL.......63 VW BEETLE IS WHAT IT IS REGISTERED AS.







IT HAS A NARROWED STUDEBAKER HOOD, HAND BUILT FRONT END AND GRILL, IT SITS ON A FORD LTD FRAME THAT WAS SHORTENED, THE BACKEND WAS DONE WITH OLD STUDEBAKER FENDERS AND SHEET METAL.

ITS ALSO PACKING 400 CUBIC INCHES UNDER THAT HOOD.

HE SAID IT IS HIS "DIRT RACER" RATROD. IT IS MADE OF ALL KINDS OF DIFFERENT PARTS HE HAD LAYING AROUND SO ID HAVE TO SAY THIS IS ONE NICE CLEAN RATROD!! THE NUMBERS ARE HIS RACING NUMBERS FROM BACK IN THE DAY WHEN HE DID DIRT RACE AND I GUESS THE YELLOW COLOR IS FROM THE OWNER OF THE ORIGINAL DIRT TRACK THAT WAS AT THE G.V. FAIR GROUNDS CAR.

That's nice.

Is there at least one VW part on it?

LOL. YES. THE "A" PILLAR TO JUST BEHIND THE "B" PILLAR AND PART OF THE FLOORING/PAN. BOTH VIN NUMBERS ARE FROM THE VW.

That is SLICK! Joe Drovold has a reputation locally for doing things a little "different". It's good to see he's still at it.

He did a really nice job on that too. Haven't seen any others of his work that i know of.......yet

Wow! That is one beautiful job. But, I wonder about the weight of the carpeting in a racer. I noticed license plates. Is this streetable? Yikes!
