Can a 1500cc engine be made to bigger displacement like you can with a 1600? And if so, how?

If memory serves me right.. the case is the same on a 1500 as a 1600. The piston / bore on the 1500 is 83x64 and on the 1600 it is 85.5x69. So crank and pistons to get it larger.
Just that the 1500 case is not as strong as the newer 1600. And only single oil pressure relief, not dual.
