| The big brother of Lowla is betting a little boost. After months of work it is coming together. I will be running a 2.4 ltr with a SDS injection system. Running a mid engine air cooled engine has some issues. Inter cooling is the main issue and placement of the Turbo another. Some pics This is a front radiator for the air to water inter cooler The turbo is in the rear trunk the silver loaf of bread is the air to water inter cooler Another pic with cool coil over mini shocks to absorb vibrations. Tomorrow we will work on some injector mounting issues. The top stores in the rear trunk it covers the turbo but I think the heat will do nasty things to it. | |

| This has been the build. The fuel system is ready to go all new fuel lines. I got some new 8mm fuel line from Autohause that was a BMW product with wire reinforcement.
The air to water intercooler is almost plumbed, this was a pick pocket.
I had a Gomer Pile ( surprise surprise surprise) my Turbo oil return line has to have a return pump. $200 plus. If you read up, a lot of guys use a harbor freight 88 dollar pump and a lot of guys have failures. I want to do this once. A high duty cycle, pump that will handle hot oil is pretty hard to find.
Oil cooler issues, no place to put it, hey move the battery and put it there. This may be the best option.
Moved the battery.
To much oil pressure to the Turbo. I think I have that figured out.
Gauges. switches, relays, 2 pumps, cooling fans and more.
The injection is just about ready to be installed.
Body modification, more holes. I have to get air to and from the front radiator in the trunk.
Another week of work and it should be running .
I missed the car show but my next dead line is Thunder hill race day in November. My son has a track day and it would be nice to see what it can do.
I will post when I can

| After a lot of work and tons and tons of engineering it started the first time hitting the key tonight. Now before turning the key we knew we had fuel pressure, primed the turbo, water in the intercooler, gas in the tank. Tomorrow I have two minor issues vacuum line to fuel pressure regulator, this should help the running rich and an older fuel line I replaces all but one line and it drips on a spark plug. My son has half a day at College and I would prefer to work in the daylight. TEST DRIVE
I started on this before Labor day I would of never guessed it would take this much time and money. ( I have a great wife) I had to beg and borrow and steal from other projects. They kid on the Porsche 914 Forums about you cannot Turbo a 914, well you can.
Pictures are coming soon. The car does have a future I watched my son spin out at Thunder Hill raceway going 70ish on a turn in our Honda Civic SI. We are going to race the 914.

| I got to test dive MIGHTY WHITEY today. We are not running a blow off valve right now so we took it easy. The hard part about a test run is running up on cars real fast. Using no boost this thing is fast but with it. I let my son drive back from the gas station with a clear road ahead of us he was doing 90 in third and it is a 5 speed. I mean right now.
The temps look great but we have a breathing issue.

| The biggest problem with my turbo is my right foot is constantly itchy! The only way to scratch that itch is to grind your foot on the floor.......... |

| We have not hit the floor, we run out of RPM's first. How much boost are you running? From the look of it we are at 15lbs range but I could be wrong. I am going to set the rev limiter on the computer to keep the engine alive. | |

| My guess it is like the Chinese finger toy. You have to cut the hose off the fittings. But on the other hand it is reusable. You would loose about an inch of hose each time.
Sometimes a braided hose is nice but it cuts with a knife it does and the cost is not to bad. I spent just under $100.00 but I got 40 feet of hose and enough ends for a couple of other projects.

| When I turned the ignition on the alt light did not light up on the dash. It is just like a bug the light has to work. It was a plug in the engine compartment. | |

| Wide band is a digital set up sensor plus read out around $200. I have an Autometer one but it is not digital. Matt I can get you plans to make your own air fuel meter but I dont believe it digital. With your electronic background you can make something they are just expensive Volt meter.
I am running a two wire but it is just one plus a ground.

| Tune time. Well I got a very important tuning aid a wideband O2 gauge. Now I can tune and know what is going on. Q: What is a wideband UEGO Sensor? A: UEGO is an acronym for Universal Exhaust Gas Oxygen sensor. It is the most accurate, fastest responding type of Air/Fuel Ratio (AFR) sensor available on the market today. UEGO sensors should not be confused with common “switch” type O2 sensors equipped in OEM vehicles that are designed to work within the parameters of a factory engine management calibration. | |

| I purchased a similar AEM kit off of eBay. Except I purchased one with a gauge that has black background to match my VDO gauges. Same BOSCH sensor though. It looks pretty cool. I ordered one of these from CB, when it comes in I could install the kit. Should be in next week with the rest of my brake stuff... | |

| Naw, they gave it to me for like 10 bucks. 'cause I am such a good customer.
I have a 'bung' I could weld on, but I figure this was a less permanent solution while I am goofing around and just 'testing'
If it works cool, I'll weld one on the header.
