| Thanks to Jeff, I now have some cool Bling wheels on Chop Suey! Thank you again Jeff, that was a sweet deal. So now I have a vision for the car. The purple paint is really starting to grow on me, but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to stay with purple. My daughter loves the color. Maybe two-tone? (purple with white sides) Ive got an under-hood turbo system that would be pretty cool too! |

| I'm still cuttin' and weldin' Whoever originally chopped the bug didn't do a very good weld job. The outside was scab-welded, beat low and bondoed. The inside was just tacked. Over the years, all of the welds have cracked. So..... I'm going back through the car replacing all of the bad areas. The other cool(?!) thing they did was filled all of the body cavities with expanding spray foam sealant! Lights fast and burns hot when you weld near it. Been digging and sandblasting all that stuff out as I go...... Replaced the pillar and a section of roof The roofline is nice and straight now... Here's what I found under 3/8" of Bondo.... It is.......challenging! But I' having fun with it. With the crummy weather I can't work on yard projects anyway! |

| Nice! You should have an apprentice. I was going to go out and practice some filler welds tonight but I noticed my acetelyne bottle was empty. So back to reading on the Internet... | |

| I am not that good.
I use acetelyne for fills and tack and MIG for joints.
I seem to just make holes when I try to fill with MIG. | |

| A 3/16" piece of copper plate makes a nice backer for MIG. The weld will flow right against the copper, but won't stick to it. |

| You mentioned that. I broke out the regulator and just have to get some CO2/Argon for the MIG. I guess I need some gas! My wife says I have pleanty already... | |
