| We have to get a motor in your Ghia to see what header you need to look for. You have three or so options. 914 912 bus And crazy aftermarket I have to ask Don what this came off but it was close enough for the bug but my two others no way. i think this was a 412. | |

| Are they all based on the same block? Is there any huge differences between the three that make one more preferable that the other? I have been looking at the 914 2 liters. I need to find a picture of the 'upright conversion' to see what the differences are. I am a visual person. But my initial thoughts are to run dual throttle bodies with the cross tube and 'T' somewhere between the pressure covers with a down tube to the turbo. I think this gives you more options on locating the turbo intself. And I think I know that on the type 4 heads, the exhaust ports face down instead of out the front and back. So I have been trying to figure out what that looks like on a type 4 for with the upright fan shroud. I was thinking of those fan shrouds with the fan in the center but I am not sure if those are the right ones. I have lots of thoughts that just lead to more questions... | |

| Yes! That is it, that is what I was looking for!
Yea, I am pretty much ready to start putting the pieces together and see where it goes.
I found a block available and there was a gentleman at Tech Day that had a few he was willing to move.
My priorities at the moment as far as budget go are:
1: Fix the brakes in the '69 - In progress, ordered last pieces yesterday. 2: Lower and update the front end in the '69 - Week after next 3: Motor for the '73 - May / June
I am going to wheel the '73 into the garage and pop the body off the pan probably next week. At that point it becomes two projects that can be worked individually. Pan and mechanics and then the body work. | |
