SRV - TECH Day / Meeting - March 19th

Our monthly tech day and gathering set for March 19th, 2011.
Tech day: 9:00am to 4:00pm. Cruise and gather 4:30pm to ?

HEY ALL. IVE HEARD SOME FOLKS ARE WANTING TO HAVE A KINDA THEME FOR THE TECH DAY.

WHAT IVE HEARD THAT WAS TALKED ABOUT WAS DOING AN UPHOLSTERY DAY COMING UP HERE IN MAR. THINKING ABOUT THAT I WAS LOOKING AT PRICING FOR THE DOOR CLIPS AND SEALS.

DOES ANYONE NEED SOME? OR EVEN MIGHT NEED SOME?

THE LEAST EXPENSIVE ONES I HAVE FOUND ARE THREW JBUGS AT $0.20 FOR THE CLIPS AND $0.18 FOR THE SEALS.

I WAS PLANNING ON GETTING A FULL SET OF ABOUT 56 OF EACH FOR MYSELF AND THOUGHT I COULD ORDER EXTRAS FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT NEED OR MIGHT NEED THEM.

PLEASE POST HERE HOW MANY YOU NEED OR MAY NEED BY TUESDAY MARCH 1ST. THAT WAY I CAN ORDER ALL WE WILL NEED AND GET THEM BY THE 19TH WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.

I CAN ALSO ORDER UP SOME SPRAY ADHESIVE IF NEED BE.

What would you suggest on redoing my doors? Both were put in horribly by the previous owner.... So ya....

DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT DONE TO THEM.

JUST REINSTALLING THEM?
REDOING THEM?
MAKING NEW ONES?
ETC.

Redo? They are coming off basically....

Well, they can be fixed or redone. Either re-glue and put on new panel hooks or Getting new hardboard, cutting it out and putting new fabrics on it.

Fix them i guess?...

Save you money I have a whole new interior for your car. Seats door panels rear seat skin. Everything is in boxes never used except the front seats. I had them in my Porsche until Chris hit a growth spurt. Pretty nice setup I will check the brand.

I paid a chunk for it, when you see the front seats you will pass out. I will let you know. They are black with gray inserts.

I GUESS NO ONE ELSE NEEDS ANY DOOR PANEL CLIPS OR SEALS? OK THEN. SEE YOU ALL THE 19TH FOR UPHOLSTERY DAY. BY THE WAY BRAD I DID GET MY BENCH CLEANED OFF FOR THIS EVENT. JUST THREW THE ENGINES TOGETHER ENOUGH TO PUT THEM UNDER THE TABLE. NOW WE HAVE SOME WORK SPACE.

I HAVE RAZOR BLADES, TRIM REMOVAL TOOLS, AND HEAT GUN. IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE ANYONE CAN THINK OF THAT WE MAY NEED LET US KNOW. I MAY HAVE IT HERE ALREADY OR SOMEONE MAY NEED TO BRING IT WITH THEM.

I might be down with this. My door panels are disintegrating.

I have clips and inserts. What other materials do we need?

1/8" masonite? Some kind of padding? What material works best, vinyl?

What do you cut the masonite with? I have a jigsaw, or maybe a trim router

In Marysville right behind McDonalds (on 70) is an upholstery shop he has water resistant panel material and vinyl any all kinds of real super cool stuff. His stuff stretcher in the right directions for.

Okay.. I will be sending out an email to all for what they will need later today.

The weather looks like it might cooporate with us.. still pretty far out, but 2 out of 3 say sunny with clouds.

There is a lot of little things which I will have on hand.. but will list everything out for everyone.

Smog and upholstery. A double threat guy!!

NOT A LOT IN THE UPHOLSTREY RELM BUT HAVE DONE A COUPLE. NOTHING TO FANCY. AND THEY TURNED OUT PRETTY GOOD.

BEEN A JACK OF ALL TRADES TILL JUST A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN I GOT THE ADDED TRAINING TO BE...........A MASTER SMOG TECH.

SO YA. IVE DABBLED IN JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF. MAINLY RELATED TO THE AUTO INDUSTRY BUT OTHER THINGS AS WELL
