| I do believe I am on my third oil change in around 100 miles. I spend more money on oil than I do gas. I pulled the sump and oil pump so I did not want to take any chances.Running Summit Racing 30 wt with added zink I will check the valves and if it is not raining go for a little spin. | |

| Your guess is as good as mine. My first choice is always the Porsche. I need to weld a leak in the exhaust. | |

| Some time in the future we have to change alternators. I bet the Porsche is running 35-55 amp. We are killing it.
Power demands Fuel injection Fuel pump Oil Pump Water pump Cooling fan Ignition When we drive down 49 headlights
You can use an old Dodge alternator with an external regulator I have the Alternator I just dont know what it puts out. And I need a regulator. I would love to run a GM 100 amp 1 wire set up but I dont think I have the room.

| I can rewind your current alternator and get you over 75 amps...
It is a talent. I rewound my cheap ass EMPI alternator so I could run my headlights...

| You remove the armature and increase the wire size and number of winds to increase output as needed. I have had a few run ins with electric motors over my lifetime. Buy coffee sometime and I will fill you in... | |

| I probably have the #3 Engine Bolt. What kind do you need? '70 and earlier '71 and later or a hybrid that works with a '70 and earlier transmission with a '71 and later engine case? The later is my own custom design which I had to come up with for my particular situation. | |

| Cool, let me know. I have a some of the 'half moon' early type from ordering the wrong part a few times. I have a few of the 'standard' bolts for the later engine cases with the threaded insert on #3. And I have some longer bolts with a standoff I made in order to clear the 'notch' in the bell housing in early transmissions for the half moon bolts and allow it to tighten up in the engine cases with the threaded insert. Of course, if you have the later problem, you could always do what I was told on the Samba and "...just run it without the number 3 bolt, a lot of people do it, it is a VW after all." | |

| This car never has had a bolt in it. The last bug I owned was in 1984. So my memory is a little off. When we built the car last year we ran into a problem with a PO putting the clutch arm on backwards. I thought the tranny was dropped. I fixed it the other day. With the arm on backwards you cannot get a bolt in the hole. So even with a turbo I was running three bolts. Proof positive it can be done. | |

| It also holds the record for the most times placed on a motor. Way to may variables going on at once. I was so glad the rear valance was off.
Do you want it on a plaque. | |
