I know what you are talking about.. but never have done it..

To post pics. You need to start a free account at www.photobucket.com.
Then you choose to "upload photo".. it will let you browse your computer folders for the pic. Double click on the pic you want and it automatically uploads the photo. click save.

now put your cursor over the photo on photobucket and a little menu will pop down below the picture.. you will see 4 different line codes. move your cursor over the line of code that says IMG and click.. it will save it.

Come back to this site, hit reply and in you box press the right button your mouse and another menu pops up. click on "paste".. the line of code gets put in the reply box and then you can type more goodies below it.

Hope that helps. Also, I am sure someone will pop on here that has done what you need

Heat the middle of the clutch arm. Do not let the heat hit the shaft for the throwout bearing.

Let the heat flow down the arm so it will expand. The hope is the clutch arm expands and the shaft does not.

If you have an air chisel with a blunt pickle fork type attachment, it will make short work of removing the shaft at this point. About three hits. Careful of your bell housing.

If the tranny is out of the car, this is easier. If it is not, BE CAREFUL with the heat, you are right by the fuel line.

You can also try a big screwdriver or a pickle fork for leverage. That can work.

If you are not saving the arm, you can cut it off.

I replaced the arm on my '69 tranny with a clamp on style that was a little longer.

Less clutch pressure for the daily driver.

If you are talking about the clutch arm on the outside of the clutch fork do as Matt said. A pickle fork is the way to go. You can heat it with a propane torch and that should help.

Are you replacing this? If so cut it inside the bell housing on the left side maybe an inch or so in. Take it off in two pieces. We had to do it this way.

Check the end of the shaft to make sure that it hasn't been dinged up (peened over) It's worth while to clean up the end with a file so that the arm will slip over nicely.

CUT THE THING I fought mine for an hour or so. I felt so good to slice and dice it.

Left side cut if you do it on the right you will cut it again on the left

Go to Reibes and get a two arm battery post puller. Will work like a charm on a stuck arm before you resort to the more aggressive solutions.

The reason I suggested cutting the arm is in case the end is mushroomed so you dont tear up the clutch lever. Mine was a bear to get off so we ended up cutting it.

So how did you get it off?
