I thought I might post a few pics as we rebuild a '63 Ragtop. It drives me nuts not having a car to take to club functions so I thought I'd at least throw up some pics every now and then just so everyone knows where I'm at with my project.

Here's what we started with. I found the car on The Samba and bought it from a guy in Auburn. It is an original L87 Pearl White '63 Ragtop Sedan.

Here's a pic of my boys on the first day of teardown. They've been very involved with the whole process.

And here's where we're at today. It is completely gutted and will be picked up this Friday and taken in for media blasting. Here it is this evening after a last hose-down bath.

Floors look fantastic. They're the Wolfsburg West, right?
I hear they're really heavy gauge.

Are you sure you wouldn't want to switch over to a IRS pan?
It's supposed to be a better ride. Or you could just weld the IRS section on that pan so that it can be registerd as a 63.
Dan isn,t yours IRS?

Keep it ol' school.

Properly set up, swing axle cars are perfectly comfortable. It's all that lowering everyone seems to think is so important that detracts from the comfy ride. I log tens of thousands on miles in my green 1963 and it's fine.
