Work continues on the heater channel. First, a couple of picks of the replacement piece from the donor car

And this side is pretty much a wrap!




Good news is the other side of my car is almost pristine in comparison to this side and it wont need hardly any work. It will only need one of the nuts replaced instead of all of them.

Frankenbug is coming right along isn't it?

It should be done (metal work wise) next month.

So now that the heater channels are done, the body got put on a different rotisserie yesterday so that the rear inner fender wells could be worked on.

Again, here you can see the donor metal getting cleaned up.





The undercoating has been a real bitch to get off of everything but, it's also what kept all of this metal in such nice shape. Jason and I have both been pretty amazed at how pristine all these pieces are.

A trip to the sandblaster finishes the cleaning of the replacement piece

I can't thank you enough for the hook-up of the donor metal. It would've taken me forever to track down all of these pieces. When this is done, I will have no repop metal in the car. It'll all be original German stuff!! That's pretty cool considering what kind of shape the car was in. Thanks again Dann. You da man!

Wow. I haven't been keeping up. Looks like once the weather broke, you got back to work.

Jason just finished a ragtop graft on a super sick '58 show car so I don't have a huge update. He told me tonight that he'll be getting back on my rear wheel well/body mounts tomorrow.

Here he is replacing the carpet retaining strips

Yeah, but it will be sooo sweet! I went over today to check it out. I'm stoked right now! The car looks awesome. You will all get to see it next Sunday.

We're getting close as far as the body goes so I thought I'd start on the chassis. I was able to to get the boys to help.
